loramide
Product Description
Diethanolamine, abbreviated DEA, is a colorless, ammonia-like liquid with the chemical formula C4H11NO2, an organic compound consisting of a second-class amine and a dual alcohol. This substance is weakly related to other amino acids such as monoethanolamine or triethanolamine. This dual alcohol has two hydroxyl groups and, like other amines, diethanolamine acts as a weak base. This product decomposes due to heat and produces toxic fumes. It is soluble in water and by dissolving this substance in water, a solution with almost strong base power can be obtained. Diethanolamine reacts with metals such as copper, zinc, aluminum and their alloys and causes corrosion of these metals. Reacts strongly with strong oxidants and strong acids.
DEA and DEA-related ingredients like Lauramide DEA and Cocamide DEA function in many ways, such as thickeners, emulsifiers, or foaming agents in cosmetics and self-care products, or to adjust a product's pH (acidity). The FDA has declared that Cocamide DEA is safe for use in personal hygiene products and cosmetics.
Lauramide Diethanolamine and Cocamide Diethanolamine are two similar nonionic surfactants with high viscosity. Since the main ingredient of coconut oil is lauric acid, these two oleo-chemicals can be considered the same in formulating hygiene or cosmetic products.
Cocamide DEA is safe as used in rinse-off products and safe at concentrations up to 10% in leave-on cosmetic products. Cocamide IDEA should not be used as an ingredient in cosmetic products in which N-nitroso compounds are formed.
. Facial cleanser . Face mask . Hair spray
. Makeup remover . Body wash . Conditioners
. Liquid hand soap . Shampoo . Bubble bath
Diethanolamine Uses
Fatty acid diethanolamides, including coconut oil diethanolamine condensate, are widely used in cosmetics. In 1985, coconut oil diethanolamine condensate was reported to be present in nearly 600 cosmetic formulations of bath oil, shampoo, conditioner, lipstick and hair dye. The concentration of diethanolamide in these preparations ranged from 1 to 25%. Non-cosmetic applications include use as a surfactant in soap bars, light-duty detergents and dishwashing detergents and as a delinting agent for cottonseed.
Coconut oil diethanolamine condensate is used as a corrosion inhibitor in water-based soluble, semi-synthetic and synthetic metal-working fluids and in polishing agents. It is also used widely as an antistatic agent in plastics, e.g. in polyethylene film for food packaging and rigid poly(vinyl) chloride. It has been employed in combination with metallic salts as an antistatic for polystyrene and in impact-resistant rubber polystyrene blends.
Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonic Acid (LABSA)
Product Description
Linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (LABSA) is prepared commercially by sulfonating linear alkylbenzene (LAB).
Linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS), the world’s largest-volume synthetic surfactant, which includes the various salts of sulfonated alkylbenzenes, is widely used in household detergents as well as in numerous industrial applications. The LABSA market is driven by the markets for LAS, primarily household detergents.
Linear alkylbenzene sulfonate was developed as a biodegradable replacement for nonlinear (branched) alkylbenzene sulfonate (BAS) and has largely replaced BAS in household detergents throughout the world.
LABSA Uses
LABSA is chiefly used in the detergent industry for the manufacture of washing powder, detergent powder, detergent cake, liquid soap, oil soap, scouring bar and cleaning powder. This chemical finds applications in anionic specialty formulations. The quality of pesticide sprays can be improved from it.
Linear alkyl benzene sulphonic acid is used as a washing and mercerizing agent in the textile industry. The surface area of distempers is increased using LABSA. It is used as a wetting agent as well as an emulsifier in small quantities along with other surfactants, for foaming of toilet soaps.
Owing to its high active matter content and miscibility with low salt content and water, LABSA is used in the polymerization of emulsions and in production of coupling agents, emulsifiers, agricultural herbicides, household and industrial cleaners.
Product Application
Sulfonic Acid in Manufacturing of Detergents
Sulfonic acid has been used in place for soap in several advanced countries since the 20th century. Sulfonic acid is used in manufacturing detergents such as detergent powder, washing powder, cleaning powder, and oil soap. Sulfonic acid is often used in making most household cleaning materials.
Sulfonic Acid as a catalyst and dyeing agent
Most of the dyeing agents used today are made through sulfonation. Sulfonic acid bonds quickly with carbohydrates and protein hereby most dyed washables have the sulfonyl group in them or sulfonic acid. Sulfonic acids are also used as a catalyst due to being strong acids examples include Nafion, dowex resin, and methane sulfonic acid.
sodium lauryl ether sulfate (sles N70)
Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), an accepted contraction of sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), also called sodium alkylethersulfate, is an anionic detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products (soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, etc.) and for industrial uses. SLES is an inexpensive and very effective foaming agent. SLES, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), ammonium lauryl sulfate (ALS), and sodium pareth sulfate are surfactants that are used in many cosmetic products for their cleaning and emulsifying properties. It is derived from palm kernel oil or coconut oil. In herbicides, it is used as a surfactant to improve absorption of the herbicidal chemicals and reduces time the product takes to be rainfast, when enough of the herbicidal agent will be absorbed.
